Our name VOLVER comes from the Spanish word ‘to return’ which represents the vision we had for setting up our business. Our mission is to source beautiful 20th century and antique pieces for the home, restoring them when needed and reviving their use.

We encourage sustainability when helping our clients plan their design schemes, to fast track to a more unique and beautiful living space, full of out of the ordinary character and style.

Jenny Swire and Shona Mckinney offer stunning and uniquely sourced mid-20th century furniture and decorative arts from across the world, specialising in pieces from the UK, Italy, France, Spain, Denmark, Germany, Africa, India and the USA. Everything is carefully chosen to make an impact as a stand-alone piece or to merge with or enhance an existing decorative scheme.

South African born Jenny’s sharp eye for aesthetics has been honed after years at the top of the fashion industry, as an award-winning fashion director for Conde Nast, Hearst Inc and Time Inc magazines. She says of her curation process: “I like the pieces I source to be evocative. There is something impossibly chic but also malleable about 20th-century furniture. I’m not one for homogeneity, for me, it’s all about the mix, 1920s alongside 1970s. The Masculine with the feminine. It is in the blending of these things where I feel the beauty lies.”

Shona, born in the Bahamas and educated in the UK brings her indispensable talent and discerning eye for design, interiors and antiques to the VOLVER partnership. Shona was the founder of the hugely successful McKinney & Co, the number one go-to amongst interior designers world wide for bespoke curtain poles.
